Yvonne Kilcrease

Yvonne Lawrence Kilcrease, 94, of Las Cruces, NM passed away quietly on June 19, 2022,

with family by her side. She was born on March 13, 1928, in San Miguel NM where she

attended Loretto Academy, graduated from Valley high (now Gadsden High School) and

attended the University of New Mexico.

She married and moved to El Paso, Texas where she raised her two daughters Sandy and

Debbie Malone. Yvonne was a member of Western Hills Methodist Church where she served

on the worship Committee. She volunteered and was an active member of the El Paso

Women's Club, Young Matrons and Sun Bowl Committees, and active PTA memberships at

Coronado High School and Western Hills Elementary.

Yvonne had a passion for travel and began her 24 year travel career with Ewald Travel

Agency, She later opened and owned Tumbleweed Travel in El Paso and Journey World

Travel in Odessa TX. Her travels took her throughout the US , Europe, Egypt, Asia, South and

Central America. Among her favorites spots were Bora Bora, China and Banff. She retired from

Adventure Travel in Las Cruces.

She dabbled in Horse Racing and spent time with friends attending Polo Matches in El Paso.

Yvonne was no stranger in the kitchen preparing beautiful holiday feasts and baked mouth

watering Chocolate Cream and Coconut Cream pies.

She lived an extraordinarily beautiful and full life and will be missed by many.

Yvonne is survived by her two devoted daughters, Sandra Malone Brandon (Alan) of

Sherwood, AR and Deborah Malone Widger (Chuck) of Las Cruces, NM. She is survived by her

step children Len Kilcrease, Jimmy Kilcrease, Karen K. Pruitt (Tom), Tommy Kilcrease and

Sherrie K. Smith ( Monty) of Fair Oaks Ranch TX, and many cousins. She will be missed by her

4 legged furry girl, Cali.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray J. And Lucy Sparks Lawrence of San Miguel, NM

her late husband James Kilcrease, Las Cruces, NM and a long line of Sparks aunts and

uncles, and Lawrence cousins.

A special thank you to the caregivers at the Heritage Assisted Living in Las Cruces, NM.

The family is planning a Celebration of her life later this summer.
