Yolanda Cadena Esquivel

Our beloved sister, Yolanda Cadena-Esquivel, entered eternal life on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. Yolanda lived in Mesilla as young girl, and attended Las Cruces High School. She was born on May 14, 1952 to the late Vicente sand Francisca Cadena of Mesilla. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and had a passion for her dogs. She will always be remembered by everyone who knew and loved her. She is survived by her two sons, Michael Cadena and Gilbert Esquivel of Santa Fe, NM Her companion Jose Rey of Las Cruces, her six sisters, Isabel Sosa and husband Robert of Carlsbad, NM; Genevieve Lucero and husband Raymond; Gloria Molina; Josie Guzman and husband Rudy;Mary Lou Ramirez; and Terry Evaro of Las Cruces, NM. Her four brothers, Miguel Cadena and wife June of Harrisburg, PA; Manuel Cadena and wife Manuela Rudy Cadena and wife Veronica and Robert Cadena all of Las Cruces, NM. Her grandchildren, Michael Cadena Jr, of California, Dominic, Angelita and Mystic Cadena of Santa Fe, NM and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parent, Vicente and Francisca Cadena, her brother Vicente Cadena Jr. nephew Christopher Saavedra and niece Beatrice Rios. A visitation will be held from 5 to7 pm on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel where the Prayer Vigil will follow at 7 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 9 am on Monday, November 24, 2008 at the Basilica de San Albino with Fr. Richard Catanach officiating. Burial will follow at San Albino Catholic Cemetery. Serving, as pallbearers will be Manuel, Rudy, and Marcos Cadena, Carlos Ramirez, Rudy Guzman, and Robert Sosa.
