Wilma Ann Murphy Klinefelter was born in Raton New Mexico on October 14, 1930 and passed away peacefully in Las Cruces New Mexico on December 2, 2014. Wilma was raised in Clayton New Mexico attending all of her public school grades there. During those fun years Wilma played the piano, was a baton twirler, played the flute in the band, and flipped hamburgers at her Dad's soda fountain "The Dust Bowl". After high school graduation, Wilma met and fell hopelessly in love with "Her Richard", Richard Klinefelter. They married in February 1951 and enjoyed 42 fun filled years of living that included dancing, RV'ing, cards with friends and generally playing as hard as they worked. Wilma considered her family a sacred gift and cherished visits with her sisters, brother, and her many nieces and nephews. Wilma enjoyed traveling with her big sister Margaret . Wilma was a deeply devoted Catholic and sincerely cared about the souls of her loved ones, daily lifting up her friends and family in prayer. Wilma enjoyed a wonderful career with the United States Department of Agriculture at the Moore County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service stationed in Dumas Texas. In her position she earned the respect of regional agricultural producers and so impressed upper management that she received a Certificate of Meritorious Service for exceptional work in her profession. Wilma often recounted stories of working with farmers through good times and the many lean times and was proud of the friendships she developed throughout the journey. Wilma is preceded in death by her loving husband Richard Klinefelter, her mother Anna Murphy, her father William R. Murphy, her sister Mary Nesbitt and her brother Robert J. Murphy. Wilma is survived by her sister Margaret Traylor of El Paso Texas, Mike (Susan) Traylor, William (Gretchen) Traylor, Julie (Tim) Gray, Jill (Tim) Delucca, James (Patti) Nesbitt, Anne Young (Brad) Chertoff, Timothy Nesbitt, Patrick (Michele) Nesbitt, Amy Murphy (Ken) Major, Sean Murphy, and Lisa (Ron) Hammer. A private mass will be held in Las Cruces New Mexico and Wilma will be laid to rest next to "Her Richard" in Raton New Mexico. Wilma's family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff and management at Haciendas at Grace Village for the loving care tendered to this special woman. PDF Printable Version
