William T. Kelly

December 29, 1946 — October 2, 2008

William T. Kelly, 62, of Las Cruces, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008. He was born Dec. 29, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA to Claire and Frances Kelly. William was a retired Army Master Sergeant serving his country honorably during the Vietnam Era. While in the service he earned the Army Service Ribbon/Overseas Service Ribbon/ Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal/Gallantry Cross Unit Citation Badge and the Sharpshooter Badge. After his Army career he was a Sr. Computer Graphic Illustrator at Roswell for 9 years. He was an avid artist with his exhibitions representing the Whole Enchilada Festival in 1989. Mr. Kelly will be deeply missed by all his family and many friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Kyu Kelly of the family home; children Bill Kelly and wife Stephanie, Frances Kelly all of Las Cruces and Sarah Kelly of Illinois; his father Claire Kelly of W. Newton, PA; sister-in-law Dori Kelly of W. Newton, PA; aunt Kay Moody of W. Newton, Pa; niece Christy Morris and husband Chris and their children Parker and Kaylee of Scottsdale, AZ. William was preceded in death by his mother Frances Kelly and his brother Bobby Kelly. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday, Oct.7, 2008 at Getz Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008 also at Getz Funeral Home with Minister Yong Kim officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers will be members of William's family and friends. PDF Printable Version
