William Fredrick Golden, III "Bill", 75, Of Las Cruces, NM died Sunday, March 18, 2018. Bill was born September 3, 1942 in Trenton, New Jersey (Mercer County) to William Fredrick Golden, Jr. and Marion Kennedy. Bill was the only child of Marion and William Golden, Jr. He attended the City of Trenton public school system and then entered the United States Navy in February of 1960. Bill married Rachel Medina on August 12, 1979 in Trenton, New Jersey. Bill enjoyed his careers in the military, The New Jersey State Police, The State of New Jersey Department of Corrections where he retired on January 1, 1995 the first time before moving to "The Villages" in Lady Lake, Florida where he soon found himself with another career as a Deputy for the Sumter County Sheriff's Department from 1997 to 2010 when he retired the second time. Bill and Rachel then moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico to build a home and be closer to family. Bill resided in New Mexico from 2011 to 2018.He was an avid lover of structure and discipline, Bill donated monthly/yearly to the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement agencies, The Correctional System, and numerous organizations that supported children and animals. He consistently contributed to: NJ Fraternal Order of Police, United States Navy Memorial Loyal Order of Moose, Las Cruces Lodge 2081, VFW Gold Circle Member Post# 08083. Bill was also a member of the A.A.S.R. Northern Masonic Jurisdiction Member since 1977, Master Mason Pemberton - Pyramid Lodge No. 92 (NJ) thru to 2018, A.F. & A.M. Aztec Lodge No. 3, Las Cruces, NM (Brother) thru to 2018 Bill is survived by his wife, Rachel Medina Golden of Las Cruces, New Mexico, his son Eric S. Golden and his wife Desiree' Golden both of Las Cruces, New Mexico. His oldest granddaughter Brooke Bivona of Gloucester City, New Jersey, his grandson, Jordon T. Kopreski of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and his youngest granddaughter, Zoie Golden also of Las Cruces, New Mexico. He is survived by beautiful in-laws, nephews and nieces in Wisconsin, Delaware, New Jersey, Florida, and New Mexico. Bill adored his in-laws, Esteban Medina (deceased) and Juanita Medina (deceased) and requested to be laid to rest with them in the National Cemetery in Florida. A viewing is scheduled for Monday, March 26th from 5pm-7pm in the Getz Funeral Home Chapel with a Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, March 27th at 1pm also in the Getz Funeral Home Chapel. Interment is scheduled for a later date in Florida. In lieu of flowers, Bill's wishes were that the following be considered for donation: Shriners Hospitals for Children
