William Eric Towers

"Wild Bill" Towers September 16, 1962 - October 25, 2022 William E. Towers was born September 16, 1962, in Bristol, Virginia to Robert Lee Towers & Alice "Judy" Jewel Towers. Billy the eldest of three was especially close to Sister Kimberly Kay Benjamin and lovingly looked forward to his frequent phone calls from his brother Rob Robinette. He enjoyed hearing about his nephews & niece. He is also survived by his Larry Towers, as well as two cousins UK Lee Richardson and Paul Richardson. He was predeceased by his mother and stepfather Charles Robinette and spoke of him fondly. Bill graduated from the Job Corps in Atlanta, Georgia as a carpenter. He worked laying the first cable in the United States across the river from Camp Lejeune. He was especially proud and humbled by his Cherokee heritage (maternal). He deeply loved New Mexico sunshine, couldn't get enough chili and it was never hot enough. He was happiest gardening, landscaping for esteemed friends and acquaintances in Mesilla and when he wasn't working for them, he would call or go check on them a kind and gentle man of compassion. "Wild Bill" is also survived by lifelong friends Laura Dafazio & family of Pittsburg, Pa who kept in daily contact and helped him at so many levels. Joy Miller of Mesilla & family of Pennsylvania was the other dear friend who kept his spirits up and took him out to spend time with him. His friendship went back to their college days at Ravena Ohio neighborhood and where he was so beloved for his eastern woodland beadwork. Dear friends Willie & Jill Runsabove of Mesilla, The Dahlstrom family, Grandpa Gallegos, Dorsey Barclay and many more, you know who you are! Kimberly writes "You will be forever in our hearts as a son, big brother, caregiver and friend. You will be deeply missed, until we meet again.
