William C. Knop

William "Willie" C. Knop, 84, of Las Cruces, died Wednesday July 26, 2006. He was born January 12, 1922 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Max and Anne Knop. He was a veteran of the US Navy where he served his country honorably during WW II. While in service to his country he was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and the American Defense Medal. After service to his country he retired from Miller Brewing Company. Willie will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife Elrose Knop of the family home; daughter Sharon Thacker of Milwaukee, WI. and grandson Scott Thacker and wife Faye. His first wife Frances preceded Willie in death. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday August 2, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Jorgenson of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.
