Vincent J. Van Valkenburg

Vincent J. Van Valkenburg, 79 of Las Cruces and formerly of Jacksonville, FLA, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006. He was born January 18, 1927 in Grapeville, New York to Floyd and Eloise Van Valkenburg. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict. Vincent had been a past member of the Hillrise Baptist Church in Jacksonville and was a member of their choir, he was an avid sports fan, loved to read but his passion was for the history of the Civil War. He will be forever deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him. Vincent is survived by his sons Michael Van Valkenburg and wife Linda, Richard Van Valkenburg and wife Laura, Leonard Van Valkenburg and wife Deby and Dennis Van Valkenburg; brother Wayne Van Valkenburg and sister Grace Johnson. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Frances Van Valkenburg and a brother Roger Van Valkenburg. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home. PDF Printable Version
