Tommy Olivas Evaro of Las Cruces, NM was called home by the Lord on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at the age of 31 with his parents, step-parents and siblings by his side. He was born September 27, 1983 in Las Cruces, NM to Miguel Evaro and Maria Olivas. Tommy was a graduate of Mayfield High School and went on to become a correction officer at the Arizona State Prison. He was a mechanic at heart and enjoyed customizing vehicles. In his spare time he like tattooing, DJing and fishing. Those who knew Tommy enjoyed his company at every moment, with his uplifting smile and jolly laugh. He was a selfless person who would do anything for anybody at any cost to himself. Tommy blessed us all with his pure love for life, his kindred demeanor and beautiful heart. Always a child at heart, he absolutely loved Minions. He understood children like no other and always made time for talking, playing games, joking and tickling them to pieces. He loved his children with all his heart and loved the family's children as if they were his own. He was a big "teddy bear" to those he loved, who was always willing to hold and hug anyone's worries away. Tommy is survived by his three children Brandon, Aliciana and Isaac Evaro, his parents Miguel Evaro and Maria Olivas, step-parents Desidoro Rodriguez, Josie Evaro and Olga Lopez, his sister Sonia Evaro (husband Richard Montoya), brother Miguel Evaro Jr. (husband Derek Evaro), sister Randee Evaro, nieces Ariana Montoya and Yesenia Montoya, maternal grandmother Otilia Olivas and several dozen aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers will be: Manuel Olivas Jr., Mike Sanchez, Pablo Marquez, Peter Infante, Richard Dominguez Jr., and Terence Peyton. Honorary pallbearers will be: Randee Evaro and Brian Daniels. Visitation for Tommy will be Tuesday June 30, 2015 from 6-7 pm at Getz Funeral Home with a prayer vigil to follow at 7 pm. Funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at San Miguel Catholic Church with burial to follow at Masonic Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. PDF Printable Version
