Steven Michael Mallory

May 6, 1953 — March 30, 2023

Steven Michael Mallory moved on to his next journey on March 30, 2023. Steve was born to James (Jim) Vernon and Constance (Connie) Louise Mallory. Of all his countless accomplishments and endeavors, Steve was most proud of his service to his country. He joined the U.S. Army as a young man and spent 9 years in its service. From the Army he joined the U.S. Navy and spent another 11 years serving in many capacities and visiting many lands. After the military Steve attended MMI Tech. School in Phoenix, AZ. This began his new vocation as a motorcycle mechanic. Initially this was solely to work on his own bike, but it became a labor of love and took him to Wyoming where he worked as a Harley mechanic and met the love of his life, Nancy. Eventually, the call of family and a disdain for never-ending blizzards and wind brought he and his wife Nancy back to Las Cruces to be close to Steve's baby sister, Anda. In addition to his country and motorcycles, Steve enjoyed anything outdoors. From hunting big game to chasing quail Steve was always up for an excursion. Steve was an accomplished marksman and his love for shooting matches was unparalleled. He will be greatly missed by all who ever had the opportunity to meet him. Steve will forever be known as the best husband, brother, uncle, and friend. Fair winds and following seas. Steve is preceded in death by both his parents and sister Becky. Steve is survived by his wife Nancy, sister Anda (Bennie), nephew Brian (Della), great-niece Mackenzie (JT). A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
