Stella Jones

Stella G Jones of Las Cruces died on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. She was 95 years old and enjoyed a long life. Stella was born in Cuchillo, NM on March 17, 1929, to Marcos & Elicia Gonzales. She grew up in Las Cruces and Deming. She was the oldest of ten siblings: Benny (deceased), Amado (deceased), Marcy, Guillermo, Corinna, Gloria, Marcos Jr, Aurora and Gilbert. 

Stella was married two times before she met the love her life, Theodore W. Jones, who preceded her in death on March 3, 2022. Stella was a great cook and a lifelong homemaker. Everybody that came to her home left full of delicious food. She had 10 children. Her first born, Gloria preceded her in death as an infant. Two of her sons also preceded her in death, Eduardo and Frankie. She is survived by daughters Teresa Engelking (Charley), Mary Alice Reyes and Stella Marie Terrazas and sons, Luis Baca, Steven Baca, Frumencio Baca and Teddy Jones (Laura).

Stella was loved and will be missed by family including 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Good Samaritan Long Term Care and Mesilla Valley Hospice.

Interment will be on Thursday, October 17, 9:30am at Masonic Cemetery. Services at Trinity Lutheran Church at 10:30 am and lunch to follow.
