Ski Radwanski, 80, of Las Cruces, NM died August 8, 2011 due to acute leukemia. Ski died at University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Ski was born in Windber, Pennsylvania, January 9, 1931, to John J. Radwanski and Katherine (Dematracek) Radwanski. He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. He attended Adams State College and graduated from UNM as a mechanical engineer. He worked at White Sands Small Missile Range from 1961 to 1963, Nasa from 1963 till he retired in 1995. Ski married Mary Gurnick in 1983. The two celebrated their twenty-eighth wedding anniversary this past February. He was a devoted member of the Serra Club and a loyal member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Ski is survived by his wife Mary Radwanski, two daughters Carla Sheridan of Thornton, Colorado and Kelli Jo Yee of Tucson Arizona , and five other children Mike Gurnick of Chesterfield, Virginia, Steve Gurnick of Flagstaff, Arizona, Kathy Hill of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Rob Gurnick of Gig Harbor, Washington, and Susan Deffert of Parker, Colorado. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren. A Rosary will be prayed in his memory Friday, August 19, 2011 at 6:00 PM at Holy Cross Catholic Church followed by a celebration of Ski's life with Msgr.
