Shirley Ann Mckay

Shirley Ann "Sam" McKay, 69, of Las Cruces, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007. She was born April 16, 1938 in Peoria, ILL. to Orville and Iris Weaver Spradley. She had been the retired payroll manager with J.D. Edwards Inc. She was an avid outdoors person who enjoyed fishing, camping, Nascar racing and gambling, but her passion was for bingo. She will be deeply missed by all her family and many friends who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years Leonard McKay of the family home; son Kip Porter of E. Peoria, ILL; daughters Dena Ortiz and husband Ron of Aliso Viejo, CA, Debra McKay of Denver, CO, Sheri Carey and husband Stevie of Wichita Falls, TX and step-daughter Renee McKay of Georgia; brother Don Rhoades and wife Cookie of Pennsylvania; sisters Martha Munster and husband Jerry of Missouri and Mary Warren and husband Tom of Illinois; grandchildren Emily, Nicci, Justin and Sherlyn; great-grandchild Taylor and by her two dogs whom she loved dearly J.D. and Nikko. Her daughter Janny, parents and a brother Orville, preceded Shirley in death. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be at 2 PM on Monday, Oct. 8, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home with Rev.
