Sharon Kay Lakin, 54 of Las Cruces, NM died Tuesday March 3, 2009 with her loving husband and daughter by her side, after a four year long battle with breast cancer. She was born August 26, 1954 in Altus, OK to Phillip and Jackie Shanklin. Sharon and John would have celebrated 27 years of marriage on Friday March 6, 2009. Sharon was also known to many friends as the Avon lady, she enjoyed spending time reading and with her daughter Megan. Sharon and Megan were best friends, walking stride for stride, finishing each others sentences and reading each others minds. All who know and love Sharon will truly miss her kindness and love for others. Sharon supported John throughout his 20 year Military career and was a true Military wife, willing to move anywhere in the world on a moments notice, with no questions asked.
