Sara Jean Engel

On May 1st, 2017 Sara Jean Engel moved on from this life, at her home in Las Cruces at the young age of 65. Sara was born in Alamogordo, NM on February 24th, 1952 to Zane and Patricia Chronic. After living in various places as a Air Force child, with her five brothers and sisters, she landed in Denver Colorado and finished high School there. Her main focus in life was family and doing things the right way. She worked very hard as a young adult raising her twins Jason and Sybil and often worked 2 or 3 jobs to do so. Sara met her husband John in Colorado Springs and they married in Las Cruces. In pursuit of her love for family and children they began a new family with the arrival of Zane and Claire. She devoted all of her time to being the best mother she could be, and to keep them on the right path to heaven. She loved camping, her dogs, traveling in her RV, crossword puzzles, cooking and decorating her home. She will truly be missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her mother Patricia Chronic; her husband John Engel; her children Jason Harshman and Cathy Harshman, Sybil Lohrentz, Zane Engel and Claire Engel; grandchildren Johnny Person, Alexis Robles, Jay Harshman and Annabelle Engel. She is predeceased by her father Zane Chronic and he brother Keith Chronic. Services will be held Thursday May 11th, 2017 at 10AM at Getz Funeral Home. 1410 E.
