Santiago Estrada Noriega

SANTIAGO ESTRADA NORIEGA, Jr. AKA: Chagito/Jim/Jimmy/Jimbo Jim was born on March 5, 1964, and was tragically involved in a fatal accident on January 25, 2021, in California. He was 56 years old. As Jim always, told Everyone, "We must be ready for Our Lord God," and, We, believe without a doubt, Jim Was. Jim was born In Alamogordo, New Mexico, where He lived until graduating from Alamogordo High School, in 1983. Jim then moved to California and attended over 10 years of trade schools and colleges, where He became a Master Welder; and, was a much "sought-after," Special Inspector of Structural Steel and Welding - CWI, Bolting and Fireproofing. Jim also acquired his NDT Ultrasound Level 1 and 2; and, an NDT Magnetic Particle and Dye Penetrant Inspector 1 and 2. Jim first worked at San Bernardino Steel as a Welder, then later, was associated with CHJ, Smith Emery, Franklin and Herrick Laboratories, in Los Angeles County, CA. Jim had his Contractor's License and was a Member of Local 12 Union for Operating Engineers for 30 years. His last position was with Twinning Laboratory in Long Beach, CA., where he worked for the past 14 years. Jim proudly and tirelessly devoted his work into His most impressive projects, where He held the position of Special Inspector at: Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, Colton, CA; Kaiser Permanente, Baldwin Park, CA; Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine, Pasadena, CA; Kaiser Permanente, Chino Hill, CA; Poly Sci Buildings UCR, Riverside, CA; Chaffey College, Chino, CA; Nintendo World Universal Studios, Hollywood, CA; and most current project, which was one of his most attained goals in life: The Metro Purple Line in Los Angeles, CA.. Jim has left His "Imprint," on many buildings throughout Southern California. Jim was held in high regard by many, especially with His Christian Brothers and Sisters of The Ontario First Church of the Nazarene in Ontario, CA and His Work Colleagues, whom He held in high respect. He was a devoted Man of God, a faithful and loving Father to his surviving beloved Children, Santiago Valente Noriega, Alexandra Feliz Noriega, Chino, CA; Patricia Noriega Estrada (Joaquin, Husband) and His Grandchildren; Savannah, Joaquin, and Ivan Estrada, of Rialto, CA. Jim is also survived by His loving Sisters: Liovy Noriega Chavez, Rio Rancho, NM; Dolores Noriega Pantoja, Las Vegas, NV; Betty Noriega Green (David, Husband), Oak Hills, CA; Wilma Noriega, Alamogordo, NM; and, numerous relatives and friends. Jim is preceded in death by His Father, Santiago Perez Noriega; His Mother Maria Estrada Noriega and His Niece, Lisa Marie Chavez and Nephew, Anthony Frank Guerrero, life-long residents of Alamogordo, NM. Services will be held on February 20, 2021 in Ontario, CA at the Ontario First Church of the Nazarene at 11:00am-12:00pm. Jim will be returned to New Mexico for services, on February 25, 2021, at Mountain View Church, 1300 Cuba Avenue, Alamogordo, New Mexico, at 10:00am-11:30am. Internment will be at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery. Due to Covid restrictions everyone is required to wear masks and social distancing procedures will be in place. Pallbears: Valente Noriega (Son), Charles Gonzales, Nick Porchas, Santiago Lucero, Nissa Chavez and Joaquin Estrada. Honorary Pallbearer: Johnny Sandoval. If there ever was a "Go-getter," it was Jim.
