Sandra Valenzuela

God gave us a gift to enjoy for too short of a time. Our beloved sister Sandra Valenzuela, 54, went to be with her lord on August 17, 2021.

On April 28, 1967, Sandra was the first-born child to parents Jesus & Beneranda Valenzuela. She grew into a young woman that took life and family responsibilities very seriously. With the death of her father, she became the driving force in helping her mother raise 3 younger siblings. She graduated from Alamogordo High School and went on to receive her Bachelor of Business Administration from New Mexico State University.

Her love for reading came from her mother, but her passion for her family was the most important part of her life, along with her special dog Zarah with whom she shared many happy moments. She enjoyed all genres of music and live concerts with a particular fondness for country music. She spent time watching cooking shows and animal related programs.

Her many cherished friends illustrated her thoughtfulness and kindness. The attitude carried over into her business and professional life. She spent 28 years at Mountain States Escrow as the office manager and administrative assistant, working with her second family.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Beneranda Valenzuela. Survivors include brother Gustavo Valenzuela, sisters Cristina Valenzuela and Gabriela Valenzuela (Victor Burciaga), nephew Bryce Richardson, nieces Claudia Maria Valenzuela and Kyra Richardson, great niece Nayeli Chavez, and numerous cousins and close friends.

The family extends special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and technical staff at New Mexico Heart Hospital in Albuquerque for their kindness, respect, and support. Our appreciation also extends to family and friends who have offered and given their support and prayers during our difficult time.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 10, 2021, at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church, 5035 Holsome Road, Las Cruces, NM 88011. The rosary will begin at 10:30 am followed by Mass.
