Sandra Cheri 'Cheri' Amor

Sandra Cheri Amor was only 47 years old when she passed away with her family beside her on the 10th of February 2021 in her Las Cruces home. Cheri was born on the 21st of July 1973 in National City California to Helen Amor Tubbs and Richard Hiott. Cheri was a 1991 graduate of Grain Valley High School, Grain Valley, Missouri. Soon after, Cheri enlisted in the United States Army, serving 5 plus years as an administrative personalist and 20 years as a DOD Civilian. Cheri earned numerous awards for outstanding performance while in service, to include the Army Commendation Medal (2), Army Achievement Medal (8), National Defense Service Medal, NCO PLDC Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal, and Expert Marksmanship Badge (w/Rifle Bar). Cheri was a bright and beautiful person who enjoyed many hobbies i.e. dancing, karaoke, sewing, cooking, and teaching Zumba as an instructor. Cheri was a beautiful person with a smile that could light up any room. She was always willing to help anyone at any cost and was a friend you could depend on. She will truly be missed. She is survived by her 16 year old daughter Mia Isabel Rincon, Helen Amor Tubbs (Mother), Jess Tubbs (Step-father), Richard Hiott (Father) and his spouse, Peter Wayne Gonzalez (Brother) and niece Zoie, Joseph David Gonzales (Brother), and nephew David. Grandmother Lydia Smith (Lee's Summit, MO) numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins that span the continent and across the sea to the Island of Guam. We must acknowledge and thank her Las Cruces family and the soldiers of White Sands Missile Range. Service Information
