Ruth Alma Lacy

Ruth Alma Lacy, 69 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Monday, August 8, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born October 29, 1935 in Tyler, Texas to Willie and Mondora Hardin. She had been a Las Cruces resident since 1956 and was a member of The Greater St. John Church of God in Christ. Ruth was a seamstress and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She traveled extensively with her husband Edward while he served in the US Army and had returned to Las Cruces where she had always considered home. Ruth is survived by her mother Mondora Hardin of San Diego, CA; one son Curtis Warren Jr. of Tyler, TX; five daughters, Sharon Warren of Dallas, TX; Grace Hill of Charlotte, NC; Evelyn Teresa Beavins of Las Cruces, NM; Eddie Lacy of Las Cruces, NM; and Betty Salters of Albuquerque, NM. Four brothers, Willie C. Hardin of Farmington, NM; James Hardin of Washington DC; Robert Hardin of Tempe, AZ; and Wilber Hardin of Union City, CA. Four sisters, Velma J. Hamilton of Las Cruces, NM; Joyce Boyd of Alpine, CA.; Kayvon Hardin of Houston, TX and Rayvon Hardin of San Diego, CA. 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild also survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Lacy; one son Terry Hill; sisters, Lillian Marie Cooper, Verdie McNelly; and brothers, Jessie Lee Hardin, Johnny Ace Hardin, and Joecethous Hardin. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday August 12, 2005 at Getz Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 11 AM on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at The Greater St. John Church of God in Christ, 1615 N. Mesquite, Las Cruces, NM with Rev. Cleo Bell officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends and family will be received at the home Velma Hamilton, 1235 Poplar St. immediately following the funeral service.
