Ruby Louise Hanson

Ruby Louise Faubion Hanson, a longtime New Mexico resident, passed away Dec. 10, 2006 after a lengthy illness. Louise, as she was known to her friends and family, was born in Waco, TX on Sept. 18, 1925. She was the daughter of Mrs. Ruby E. Slankard and William T. Faubion. A former employee of Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces and Lincoln County Medical Center in Ruidoso, NM, she grew up in San Antonio, TX. She was a member of Mission Lutheran Church in Las Cruces. Her beloved husband of 59 years, Nolan Keith Hanson; her parents, and two grandsons, Steven Don Frick Jr. and Luke Anthony Hanson, preceded Louise in death. She is survived by nine children; Lu Lynne Streeter and husband Bill of Seabrook, TX, Eric K. Hanson and wife Judy, Robert L. Hanson and wife Shirley and David L. Hanson and wife Patti all of Lakewood, CO, Avis Beich and husband Ronald and Avra Covey and husband Larry all of Las Cruces, Patricia L. Frick and husband Steven of Lakewood, CO, Peter J. Hanson and wife Andrea of Aurora, CO and Ruby Leiferman and husband Robert of Zumbro Falls, MN. Louise was the proud grandmother of 23 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006 also at Getz Funeral Home with Pastors Howard Kramer and Robert Carabotta of Mission Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM also on Thursday at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ruidoso, NM. Serving, as pallbearers are Jeremy and James Beich, Christopher Covey, Jeffrey, Lars, Joshua, Jonathan and Nolan Hanson, Clint and Clyde Reynolds, Karl and William Wenner, Danny Jarboe, Bryan Anderson and Conrad Streeter.
