Roberto F. Holguin

Roberto (Bobby) F. Holguin, 61 of Rincon died Monday, August 15, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born April 26, 1944 in La Union, New Mexico to David and Beatrice Holguin. Robert was a farmer in the Garfield area for about the last 50 years. He was a CDL Examiner for six years with Mesaland Community College and had belonged to the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, lodge # 4308 in Caballo, NM. Bobby was presently employed with The New Mexico Department of Transportation as an Equipment Operator with Crew # 4181. Bobby is survived by his wife of 40 years Mary M. Holguin of Rincon, NM; one son Christopher Holguin and his wife Ofelia of Garfield, NM; one daughter Tricia Reyes and her husband Louie of Chicago, IL; his step mother, Juana Holguin of Las Cruces, NM; two brothers, David Holguin and his wife Dolores of Garfield, NM and Edwardo Holguin and his wife Lucia of Las Cruces, NM; one sister Carmen Gomez and her husband Dr. Paul Gomez of Las Cruces, NM. Four grandchildren, Randall Holguin, Robert Holguin, Renee Holguin and Madison Reyes also survive him. He was preceded in death his father, David Holguin, his mother Beatrice Holguin and one brother Albert Holguin. Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and brother in law. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to any one that needed him. He enjoyed baseball and softball, and was a coach for both men and women in the 1970's. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending games and watching his grandchildren play. Robert was a generous man with a big heart and. was actively involved with his family. A member of the Catholic Church, his patron saint was The Virgin de Guadalupe. Robert will be dearly missed by his wife, Mary, his family and by all who knew and loved him. A visitation will be held from 6-7 pm on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at San Isidro Catholic Church in Garfield where the Prayer Vigil will follow at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 AM on Thursday, August 18, 2005 also at San Isidro Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Power officiating. The Rite of Committal and Burial will follow at The Garfield Cemetery. Serving, as pallbearers will be Joe K. Medina, Richard Holguin, Bobby Elizondo, David Holguin III, Randall Holguin, and Randy Medina. PDF Printable Version
