Robert Rubio Castillo

Robert R. Castillo, 88, passed away on September 10, 2024. He was a retired Las Cruces Road Superintendent and Technical Administrator, a U.S Navy Reservist, a very skilled rancher, and an avid hunter. My father was an excellent father and a very loving grandfather. He leaves behind my beautiful mother Ramona Grajeda Castillo, his daughter Annette Magallanes (Raul), Sylvia, Robert, and George Castillo and his step children Vivian Jefferson (Ron), Jimmy and my late brother Edward Pinon. He leaves several siblings, nieces and nephews behind. My father achieved excellent accomplishments throughout his life time and I am very proud of him. He was the definition of hard working man. I will never forget riding with him as a 10 year-old in his yellow Toyota to water his alfalfa fields in the middle of the night. My mother wanted it to be known that my father was the love of her life and the best husband of 37 years, that she could have prayed for. She loves him with all her heart as do I. We miss you Dad, but you are very blessed in Gods hands. 

A viewing and rosary are scheduled for Friday, September 27, 2024 beginning at 6:00 pm at Getz Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will take place at San Miguel Catholic Church the following day on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 9 am followed by burial at 11:00am.
