Our beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and dear friend, Roberto ‘Bobby’ Lara, 72, entered eternal life surrounded by those who loved him, on April 11, 2025. He was born on March 23, 1953, to Eusebia and Ramon Lara in Las Cruces, NM. Bobby was 1 of 13 children and was a member of the Piro Manso Tiwa Indian Tribe. He spent most of his life in Las Cruces, NM and Southern California. Bobby was a loving and caring man who would do or give for anyone, as well as a jack of all trades.
Bobby is survived by his love, Annabelle Mancha, and his children, Adolfo (Naomi) Lara, Angela Lara, Jeremy (Nancy) Mancha, Adrian (Candice) Mancha, Roberta (Alfonso) Lara, Fabian Lara, and Matthew (Josie) Lara, 23 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. As well as three brothers, Tony Lara, David Lara, and Fernando Lara. He was preceded in death by his parents Ramon and Eusebia Lara, siblings, Adela Garcia, Mary Gonzales, and Antonia Avelar, Jesus Joe Lara, Johnny Lara, Lorenzo Romero, and Ramon Lara Jr.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 10:00am to 11:00am at St. Genevieve’s Catholic Church,100 S Espina St, Las Cruces, NM. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary and Funeral Mass will follow the viewing. Pallbearers will then escort Bobby to his final resting place, near his parents at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Matthew Lara, Jeremy Mancha, Fabian Lara, Adrian Mancha, Larry Lara Jr, Gilbert Garcia, and Arthur John Lara.
Roberto ‘Bobby’ Lara’s life was a blessing, his memory a treasure. He is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
