Robert L. Steinmetz

Robert L. Steinmetz, Born March 5, 1953 in Tucson, AZ passed away Saturday, December 15, 2007 in Las Cruces, NM doing one of the things that he loved most. While growing up Rob resided in several different Countries and returned to the US in 1969. He attended Miami University of Ohio where he received his degree as a Physical Therapist. This profession allowed him to give wholly and freely to the patients and friends that he cared so much about. While working in Ruidoso he met his future wife Brenda, who was a nurse at the same hospital. They married in 1982, made their home in Ruidoso and in 1985 had their first daughter Whitney. In 1989 they were blessed with a second daughter, Alexandra. Rob loved adventure, traveling and was able to explore many places with loved ones. Among his many passions were flying, camping, fishing, golfing, hiking, tennis, bicycling, and bible study. Being a dad and husband were the two things he cherished most in the world. He is also survived by a sister, Lark Steinmetz of San Diego, CA; and a brother, Lance of Bend, OR; along with many many friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday December 20, 2007 at the Farm and Ranch Museum.
