Robert C. Lujan, 81, of Mesquite, NM died Saturday June 11, 2011. Bobby as he was fondly known was born Dec. 16, 1929 in La Mesa, NM to Heriberto and Mariana Lujan. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served our country honorably. Bobby also was retired from W.S.M.R. after many years of faithful service. He enjoyed dancing and camping. Bobby was devoted to his church, for which he gave freely of himself. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Lily Lujan of the family home; sons Charlie Lujan and wife Gloria of Mesquite and Robert Lujan and wife Susan of Katy, TX; daughters Debbie Gomez Sanchez and husband Jimmy of Queen Creek, AZ, Jeanette Yoke and husband Michael of Las Cruces, Jackie Lujan and companion Ronald Garcia of Albuquerque, NM and Regina Lujan of Mesquite and by brother Alfred Lujan also of Mesquite. Also surviving him are his grandchildren Tony, Kenny, Jeremy, Ruben, Jessica, Melissa, Kailen and Avery and by 22 great-grandchildren. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and 8 brothers and sisters. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 pm on Thursday June 16, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Mesquite, NM where a prayer vigil will follow at 7 pm. A funeral mass to celebrate his life is at 10 am on Friday June 17, 2011 also at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Rite of Committal will be at Missionary Ridge Cemetery with military honors. The honor of being a pallbearer goes to Ruben, David, Eddie, Betito and Alfred Lujan Jr., Carlos Mora, Dohnovan and Kendric Ortiz.
