Rebecca Gist

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend Rebecca "Becky" Gist, age 67 of las cruces, New Mexico on Monday February 21st, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Becky was born November 28th, 1954 to Alejandro and Lydia Ybarra. Becky was a lifetime member of the VFW post 10124 and the ladies Auxillary. She was a dedicated Dallas Cowboy fan, she enjoyed going to the casino, and buying her lottery tickets. Becky was also a waitress most of her life.

Those left to mourn her passing includes her loving companion of 17 years William Meerbott, her loving children; her daughter Michelle Ybarra (Jeanina), her son Jon "J.C" Gist (Margie) all from Las Cruces, New Mexico. Her siblings Rosie Ybarra, Christina Sanchez, Dolores Ybarra, and Pete Ybarra all of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Six grandchildren, Chris, Josh (Lorena) , Adrianna, and Angel Ybarra, Jordan and Mariah Gist. Two great granddaughters Airiannie and Nevaeh Ybarra. As well as many nieces and nephews, and many, many friends.

Becky is preceeded in death by her parents Alejandro and Lydia Ybarra, also proceeding in her death are two brothers Alex and Ralph Ybarra and two sisters Kathy Carrasco and Terry Ybarra, and a Nephew Omar Sanchez.

A viewing will take place on Monday February 28th, 2022 at Getz Funeral home from 11am to 1 pm with funeral services to follow at 1 pm. At Becky's request cremation will take place following the memorial service
