Raymon Price

December 19, 1931 — December 24, 2022

Raymon Earl Price was called to eternal rest by his Savior, Jesus Christ, after 91 years on December 24, 2022. He was father of Anthony, Myra, Marie, stand-in-father and uncle to Zachary, and grandfather to his son Zavier. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Bertie Mae, his wife Enedina, brothers James (wife Anice) and William and sisters Jean (husband Jerry) and Janelle and his in-laws Tony (wife Maria), Lorenzo, Felipe, and Erminda Marta.

He is survived by his children and in-laws Mary Price, Tommy Walker, Mary, Barbara, and Lisa Marta (husband Angel), Margarita Marta, Lila Marta, and many nieces and nephews. Born in Sowers (now Irving), Texas, December 19, 1931, he was the third son of five siblings. They were raised in a loving home during the heights of the Great Depression and World War II. Ray participated in all sports within his small, but tight knit community, and took his high school baseball team to a state championship. He had such exceptional talent as a left-handed pitcher that Ray was eventually drafted, and played professional baseball in the Texas minor leagues. He had hopes of making it to the major leagues, but was drafted into the US Army during the Korean conflict. Raymon served in an Air Defense unit stationed in Germany, and played baseball, football, and basketball throughout Europe for his Division team. After his Army enlistment, Raymon pursued a higher education at New Mexico State University and graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree. He continued working for the next 35 plus years at White Sands Missile Range as a civil servant and radar expert before retiring. His job proved fortuitous on many levels, as he met and courted his future wife, Enedina Gloria Marta. They were married on June 15, 1963 and were constant companions until Nina's passing on March 27, 2022, just a few months shy of their 59 th wedding anniversary.

Raymon was honored to be a godparent and loved the role of uncle and father. He was a lifelong outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, and hiking, and he shared this passion with his wife's family and his children. Raymon E. Price died in the home he and his wife built 50 years earlier at 2:08 pm, Christmas Eve 2022. A rosary will take place 7:00 pm, Wednesday January 4, 2023, at Getz Funeral Home, 1410 E.
