Ralph Lindsay

January 9, 1926 — March 22, 2017

Ralph "Red" Lindsay, 91, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at home in Las Cruces, NM. He was born on January 9, 1926, in Detroit, MI to Joshua and Mabel Lindsay. He grew up in Detroit with his two siblings. He preferred to be called Red even though his hair was no longer red. Ralph served in the Navy during WWII and continued his service in the Naval Reserves. After his Navy service, he was active in the VFW and was a past president of Fortiers O'Grady, post 9039 in Michigan. He retired from C&O Railroad and Rockwell International (Boeing). Ralph was a dedicated husband, father and an animal lover. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Gertrude, his daughter, Catherine Lindsay, and pet poodle, all of Las Cruces. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Lindsay and sister Constance "Vera" McLean. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Getz Funeral Home from 5-7PM.
