Primo R. Torres

March 30, 1948 — September 9, 2005

Primo R. Torres, 57 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Friday, September 9, 2005 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. He was born March 30, 1948 in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico to Primitivo and Teresa Torres. A lifelong area resident he had graduated from NMSU and was employed by the Las Cruces Public School Systems for 32 years, the last 11 years as a teacher of Spanish and History at Las Cruces High School. Primo was also a member of the Catholic Church. A huge Dallas Cowboys fan, Primo will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Primo is survived by his wife, Marnita; a stepson, Rick Langley, his wife Sharon, and their daughter, Cortney and Kaiti all of Dallas, TX. One sister Maria Teresa Torres, an aunt, Paulina Reyes Ortega and cousins Jimmy and Mike Ortega all of El Paso, TX. He is also survived by two children and three grandchildren from a previous marriage. His parents, Primitivo and Teresa preceded him in death. A Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at Getz Funeral Home where the Prayer Vigil will follow at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 AM on Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1327 N. Miranda with Fr. Ray Flores, officiating. The Rite of Committal and Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Serving, as pallbearers will be Ramon Moreno, Jorge Sierra, Javier Tovar, Jimmy Ortega, Richie Alarcon, Richard Langley, Oscar Alarcon, and Carmelo San Mames. Honorary pallbearers will be Juan Apodaca, Juan Bazan, and Mike Ortega. PDF Printable Version
