Phyllis Jean Inman 71, Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend; passed away on August 7, 2021 at 12:12 pm at La Posada assisted living, Las Cruces, NM after a rough battle with lung cancer. Phyllis rested in peace surrounded by her loved ones. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Irene Marshall, her infant brother Elliott Marshall and her sister Margaret Marshall. She is survived by the love of her life, Hoyt Inman, brothers Robert Marshall, Omar Marshall, children Kimberly Inman, Eric (wife Jami) Inman, Cindy Inman, H.L. Inman, grandchildren Michael Leach, Candice Leach, Justin Inman, Amanda, Isabella, Ayden Inman, Chelsea Inman, Cody Inman, Marcus Chormicle and Carlos Chormicle. Phyllis' legacy continues on with her six great grandsons. Also, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as many special friends she called family. Phyllis' most precious gifts were her grandchildren; they brought her complete joy. She leaves a legacy of love and huge empathy that touched so many friends and family. Phyllis had many hobbies and cherished many special jobs. Phyllis drove the special education school bus for 25 years and her last career of dog grooming was full of many adventures. Phyllis had a huge love for people and pets. She loved camping, fishing and cooking for her friends and family. She loved all holidays and spent endless days decorating, cooking and preparing for these special moments. Phyllis was an incredible artist and could make any craft easily. She is known for her skills in baking. She made many special birthday cakes over the years. Phyllis was the matriarch and leader of her family. All events revolved around her unconditional love, cooking and special planning. Phyllis requested no funeral service; however, in her honor a Celebration of Life will be hosted at the Elks Lodge, 3000 Elks Drive, Las Cruces, NM Saturday August 14, 2021 from 1-4. The Celebration will begin with music and visiting, at 2pm a special remembrance of Phyllis will be presented by Bill Ewing (her lifelong friend), followed with light food and continued celebration.
