PAUL CARABAJAL OBITUARY - March 2, 1928 to November 26, 2022 Paul Carabajal, a lifelong resident of Dona Ana County, NM, passed away peacefully on Saturday November 26, 2022, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Paul was born on March 2, 1928, to Eugenia Carabajal of La Mesa, New Mexico. A proud Korean War veteran, Paul served in the United States Army for 25 years before retiring from military life. Post military retirement, Paul worked as a loyal employee for the New Mexico State University Physical Science Laboratory for another 20 years of dedicated employment. The cornerstone of his family, Paul enjoyed the outdoors, long walks, and time with family and friends. While serving in the United States Army, stationed in Pirmasens, Germany, Paul met and married the love of his life, Inge Samann. Their love for each other culminated with their marriage on November 25, 1961. Together, Paul and Inge raised three daughters, Ruth (Las Cruces, NM); Mary Lou (Las Cruces, NM); Lucy (Fort Worth, Texas). Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife Inge, his mother Eugenia, his brother Santiago, and sisters Frances, Reyes, Refugia, Nabora, and Lucy. Paul is survived by his daughters, Ruth Banegas (Robert), Lucy Foy, Mary Lou Ward (Christy); and his grandchildren Daniel (Ashley), Cody (Lisa), Justin (Jennifer), Thomas, Kyle, and Jason. Additionally, Paul is survived by his nine great-grandsons Corey (Tasha), Austin (Daniel), Dalton (Daniel), Beaux (Cody), Gage (Justin), Tyson (Cody), Liam (Justin), Wyatt (Daniel) and Colton (Daniel). The viewing for Paul is scheduled for Monday, December 5, 2022, at Getz Funeral Home from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Rosary will be at 10:00 AM, St. Genevieve's Parish followed by mass at 10:30 AM proceeded by full military honors and burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Pallbearers/Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Daniel, Cody, Justin, Thomas, Kyle, Jason; great grandson Gage.
