PATSY BUSTAMANTE age 78 from Mesquite, New Mexico entered eternal life on Thursday, January 20, 2022, and was greeted at the gates of Heaven by her beloved fur baby Sweetie, while she was surrounded by her family. She was born on July 31, 1943, in El Paso, Texas. As a child she grew up in Mesquite and accompanied her family as they traveled for seasonal farm work between California and Texas. She attended Gadsden schools and gained many responsibilities at a very young age. This is where her work ethic began, and she maintained it throughout her life. She worked very hard to provide for herself and her daughters after changes occurred in her personal life. Her hard work was very evident to everyone she welcomed into her immaculate home and her efforts were extended to the love of her yard in which she took pride in keeping absolutely pristine. It wasn't unusual to find Patsy helping to keep up her daughters' homes as well. Patsy was proud to demonstrate her strong work ethic, compelled to express a happy smile to those she met and regardless of her pain or fatigue, always displayed an immense joy for her family. She loved to engage in any type of conversation regardless of if she knew you or not. One of her favorite pastimes included supporting the Mayfield Lady Trojan Basketball teams over the past 30 years and attending any activities that her grandchildren and great- grandchildren participated in. Her love for the outdoors, cloudy weather and rainy days always brought joy to her day as did the bright and vibrant colors of spring and the changing colors of autumn. Patsy's survivors include 3 daughters, Sandra Tellez, Anna Marie Maya and husband George, Patricia Lucero and husband Willie (Indio); grandchildren, Cristal Cruz and wife Sara, Jake Maya, Jeneca Montoya and husband Justin, Ernestina Lucero, Willie Lucero IV and wife Hallie and Cerina Lucero; great- grandchildren, Ashlyn and Zayden Maya, Dredyn Martinez, Aulani Montoya and 2 great-grandchildren on the way, Wrenley Lucero and Baby Montoya. Brothers, Jaime Rivera (Virginia), Gary Rivera (Belinda), John Rivera (Nicole); 2 sisters, Dorothy Rivera (Rebecca) and Bernice Rivera. Other survivors include the father of her daughters Raul B. Tellez and wife Gloria; Anita Gomez who she considered her sister and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ida & Lupe Rivera, the grandparents that helped raise her, Victor and Librada Bustamante and aunt and uncle that she considered siblings, Lily Lujan and Clemente Bustamante. She was proceeded in death by Alberto Bustamante who she considered her brother.
