Patricia May Jones

Patricia May (Hokland) Jones of Las Cruces, NM passed on April 11, 2025. Pat was born in Gulfport, MS on February 24, 1943. Her father was stationed there in the US Army.

In 1945 the family returned to Wisconsin, settling in Viroqua. Pat graduated from Viroqua High School in 1961 and attended St. Frances School of Nursing (now Viterbo College) in La Crosse, WI, earning her RN in 1964. In July, 1965 Pat married Jeffrey Jones of Viroqua and the couple lived for a short time in San Antonio, TX, then returned to Wisconsin. Pat enjoyed a forty-five year career in nursing, working in various capacities and facilities. Her favorite, by far was working as a Certified college Health Nurse at UW Stout in Menomonie, WI. Pat retired in 2004 when she and Jeff moved to Las Cruces. In retirement, her greatest joy was raising, training and showing her beloved Vizsla, “Zephyr”. Pat was a member of Real Life Church in Las Cruces.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, O.S.(“Slim”) and Hazel (Kellogg) Hokland and her brother, Robert F. Hokland. She is survived by three children, Andrea (Mike) Truett of Marion, NC, Suzanne Jones of Phoenix. AZ, Glen (Denise Hoppe) Jones of Gilbert. AZ, and her husband, Jeffrey of Las Cruces.

Plans for a memorial service ill be announced at a later date.
