P. Basker Vedamanikam, 89, of Albuquerque, NM passed away peacefully in his sleep at 1:00 am on June 11, 2021. He was in the company of his family during his final hours. Basker Vedamanikam was born on October 14, 1931 in the southern city of Tuticorin and then spent his early years in Madras, India. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank John and Ruby Vedamanikam, as well as his sisters, Stella Ramaiya and Sarojini Devanandan. He is survived by his wife Ravi, sons Ranjan, Vijayan, Chandran and Maran, their spouses and children, as well as by 2 younger brothers Victor and Ponnu. Basker graduated from the Guindy Engineering College in Madras, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He retired in 2009 from the City of Albuquerque having worked for the Water Utilities department. He was a loving husband, an honorable father, and a wonderful grandfather. He served as an elder at his Church and spent time with his children and grandchildren playing basketball, cards, or board games. The viewing starts at 1:30 pm Mountain time on Monday, June 14, 2021, at the Las Cruces Church of God, 2925 Missouri, followed by the funeral at 2:00 pm and burial at 3:30 pm at the Masonic Cemetery.
