Ollie Morgan

August 25, 1944 — March 3, 2009

Ollie Morgan, 64, made his transition from this life on March 3, 2009 in Las Cruces, NM after a brief illness. He was born on August 25, 1944 to Creola and Ollie Morgan in Flushing, NY. After graduating from Central High School in Kalamazoo, MI, he joined the Air Force, where he was stationed in Korea and Japan. Upon his return from the Air Force, he settled in Chicago, where he obtained his undergraduate degree in Public Administration from Chicago State University. He also graduated from Northwestern University in Chicago, IL with a special diploma in Public Administration. He spent over thirty years in law enforcement, as a corporate executive, and entrepreneur. Ollie relocated from Chicago to Las Cruces, NM in 2001, where he immersed himself in the New Mexico political scene. He served on three levels of government, as a State Committeeman, as a member of the County Platform Committee, and as Precinct Chair of the 104th District. In addition, he was the author of "Shed No Tears", a photographer, and a noted historical speaker throughout New Mexico on its regional history. Those left behind to celebrate his life are his partner of 33 years, Sheila McCaskill, son, Stefan Morgan, Chicago, IL, daughters, Michelle Morgan-Sharp, Los Angeles, CA, and Lisa McCaskill, Chicago, IL, five awesome grandchildren, Tyler, Tiana, and Landon in Los Angeles, CA; and Elijah and Tyia in Chicago, IL.
