Nicole 'Nikki' Silva

March 10, 1975 — March 15, 2023

Nicole (Nikki) Odette Silva, 48, passed away on March 15, 2023, in Las Cruces New Mexico. She lived a beautiful and dignified life, a woman who loved and cared for her people with all her heart. Nikki was born on March 10, 1975, in the City of Orange, California. Nikki was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Romualdo & Corina Silva, her maternal grandparents Teofilo & Elena Salinas and her mother Maria Elena Hayes. Nikki is survived by her son Christopher Silva, father Eddie Joe Silva & wife Kathy Burke, brother Marco & Maria Silva, her nieces Guadalupe & Isabel Melendez and nephews Marco & Noah Silva. Nikki was a loving and devoted mother and aunt that went above and beyond for her family. Spending her childhood in California Nikki found her love for the ocean and lighthouses. When Nikki was 5 years old her parents moved her to Las Cruces, New Mexico where her father was raised. Nikki attended High School at Oate High graduating class of 1993, were she met many of her lifelong friends. The group couldn't be more inseparable and gave Nikki a sense of pride and acceptance. Nikki went on to work a career in Law enforcement where Nikki served as a 911 Dispatcher at Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority alongside her brother Marco for a couple years. Nikki later went on to work for the Doa Ana County Sheriff's department for over 20 years as a NCIC Coordinator & Supervisor where she was befriended and loved by many. Nikki also sold Scentsy products to many of her coworkers and friends. Nikki was strong and resilient who always stood beside her people. Nikki loved to spend time with friends and family. Like her mother, Nikki had a lifelong passion for cooking and entertaining with her family. Cookouts were ruined without Nikki's infamous veggie salad. Nikki was a homebody at heart and loved watching her favorite movies like "Coco" and "Hope Floats" at home with a nice glass of wine. She loved music and was a fan of many genres, her favorite songs range from "Dream on" by Aerosmith to "I missed the bus" by Kris Kross. Nikki loved to travel and see the world, whenever the chance arose Nikki spent time visiting family and friends all over the Southwest. Nikki never missed a chance to watch the 49ers or Angels. Like her mother, Nikki had a talent for interior design her home was always beautifully decorated and stylish. Services will be held at Getz Funeral Home on Thursday, March 23, 2023, with a visitation beginning at 5:00 pm and rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at Holy Cross Catholic Church on Friday March 24, 2023 beginning at 2:00 pm.
