Nicodemus Johnell Gonzales

Nicodemus (Nico) Johnell Gonzales, age 23, was born in Las Cruces New Mexico to Francisca (Xochitl) Gonzales and Damontray Furlough. Our beloved father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, and uncle tragically passed from this life on Saturday July 31st, 2021. Nico was known for his kind heart, selflessness, positive attitude, and hard-working nature. Nico had a genuine and pure soul and was always willing to help those around him. He gave his heart and life for others without expecting anything in return. Nico's smile was contagious, and his laid-back personality gave those around him a sense of comfortability. He was a man who was not afraid to express his love to his friends and family. Nico enjoyed spending time with his son, Nilo Gonzales, who is two years old. He loved to listen to any and every type of music as much as he loved to create music. Nico appreciated keeping himself and his family healthy and he did so by experimenting with foods and cooking up creative meals. He enjoyed playing basketball with his friends and dancing to keep up his exercise. Nico was articulate and creative in all his hobbies. Nico is survived by his two-year-old son Nilo Nemiah Gonzales and the mother of his son Naomi Montez-Casillas; his parents Xochitl Gonzales and Damontray Furlough; his grandparents Rose and John Gonzales; his older sister Dia Gonzales; his uncles Juan Luis (Rocky) Gonzales, and Sergio (JJ) Gonzales and his wife Jessica; his aunt Dulce (Candi) Washington and her husband George Washington; his nephew Levi Guillen and his nieces Kaya, Lola, and Nina Dixon; and his first cousins Jade, Jax and Juan Luis Jr. Gonzales. A Viewing will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 9:30am followed by Funeral services at 10:30am at Getz Funeral Home Chapel. Service Information
