Mona Lemon Morales

Mona Lemon Morales, 66, of Las Cruces died Monday, July 24, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer and Hydro cephalous. She was born July 22, 1940 in Roswell, NM to C.B. "Bill" and Mary Friend Lemon. She attended school in Espanola and Santa Fe before graduating from Highland High School in Albuquerque. She attended Colorado Women's College in Denver Co. She married Robert M. Morales of Las Cruces on April 21, 1978. Mona was employed by the U.S. Soil Conservation Service when she retired in 1979. Mona is survived by her loving husband Robert M. Morales of the family home, three sons, Anthony "Tony" Morales, his companion Debbie Cottrell of Las Cruces; Mark Quintana and his wife Karri of Topeka, K.S.; Michael Quintana and his wife Saundra of Colorado Springs, Co; and by a daughter, Anna Thompson and her husband Ron of Temecula, Ca. Also surviving are seven grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son: Robert "Robbie" Morales, Jr. and a granddaughter: Micayla Quintana. A memorial service will take place at Getz Funeral Home on Friday, July 28, 2006 at. 2:00 p.m. The family will have a private burial of cremains at Ft. Bayard National Cemetery at a later date.
