Mildred Wilcox Hooker
July 23, 1923 — August 24, 2016
Mildred Wilcox Hooker was born in Arkansas, July 23, 1923. She went to college on a government grant and became a teacher, later getting her MA in English Literature. She taught in Arkansas as well as Hatch, New Mexico, where she lived prior to moving to Las Cruces in the early 1960's. She formed several lifelong friendship with students both in Arkansas and New Mexico. She married Jeff Hooker in 1959 and they were married until his death in 1983. She is survived by one daughter, Ann Elizabeth Hooker (Lisse), an artist living in Oakland California. Funeral Services will be held t 1:00 PM, Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Getz Funeral Home.
