Mike R. Pena

Michael R. Pena was called home on October 28, 2008. Mike was born in Andrews, TX, attended schools in Alpine, TX and graduated from Fabens High School in Fabens, TX. He received a Masters in Education from New Mexico State University. He was a high school counselor at Hatch Valley High School in Hatch, NM. Mike is survived by his wife Merlinda, daughter Yvette, sons Miguel and Roman all of Hatch, NM and the boys' mother, Eva Armijo of Alamogordo, NM. Mike is also survived by his parents Higinio Pena and Virginia De la O Pena of Fabens, TX; sister, Lissa Rivera and husband Juan of Horizon City, TX and brothers Gino and wife Nina of Leander, TX and Purple of Horizon City, TX; six nephews and a niece. Mike will be remembered as a loyal friend, an advocate for students and a perpetual free spirit. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Sunday November 2, 2008 at the Our Lord Of Mercy Catholic church in Hatch, NM with a prayer vigil to follow at 7 PM. The funeral mass will be given Monday November 3, 2008 at 9 AM also at the Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church. Burial will follow Tuesday in Alpine, Texas. PDF Printable Version
