Michael Stephen Gresham

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Michael Stephen Gresham. Mike passed away peacefully at his home on Friday December 2nd, after a brief illness.

Mike was born in Long Beach, California on September 2, 1947, to Vernon and Thelma Gresham.

Mike grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico with many friends. Those friends have been life long and devoted.

Mike graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1966. He attended NMSU, before enlisting in the US Army in 1968. Mike was deployed to Vietnam where he was severely wounded during a combat mission. After stabilizing treatment in Saigon and Japan, Mike was sent state side where he spent a year recovering in William Beaumont Army Hospital. He returned to NMSU and graduated with a BBA in Accounting. He worked as an Accountant for Stahmann Farms for 32 years. He spoke often of his fondness for the Stahmann family.

Mike was disabled but soldiered on and rarely talked of his life altering experiences in the war. He was fun loving and had a great sense of humor. He overcame multiple obstacles in his life and many friends mourn his passing. He fought the good fight.

He was preceded in death by his parents and only brother. Per Mike’s request, there will not be a funeral.
