Michael Monet

Michael Monet, 22, beloved youngest son of Judi Ewing Monet of Las Cruces and M. Joseph Monet of Ft. Collins, Colorado, passed away Monday, June 30, 2008 at his home in Las Cruces. Michael did not live to fulfill his dreams, but he was blessed with such a big heart full of love and concern for his family and friends. Our family has been greatly touched by the tremendous outpouring of love for Michael and the wonderful memories of him shared by others. Our only comfort now is that Michael is in the loving embrace of his Father in Heaven. Michael was born in Las Cruces on August 18, 1985 and attended Mesilla Valley Christian School, Las Cruces, High School, and New Mexico State University. He was employed as an electrician by Ewing Electric Co. Michael always dreamed of visiting some of the great cities of America, but his great passion was cars and he could tell you almost anything about them, sports cars in particular. He was very gentle and loved animals, especially his African Gray parrot, Rocky. Michael is survived by his parents, his brother Todd Monet (Lisa) of Hobbs, NM, his sister Jaclyn Monet Schofield (Scott) of Albuquerque, his Uncle Bill Ewing (Stacie) of Cloudcroft, Uncle Mark Ewing (Lupita) of Las Cruces, Aunt Linda Weddle (Jerry) of Wellington, CO, Uncle Harold Galloway (Beverly) of Las Cruces, Uncle Bob Galloway (Jacky) of Williamsburg, NM, as well as numerous nieces and cousins. Pallbearers are Todd Monet, Scott Schofield, Bill Ewing, Stacie Ewing, Ed Mitchell, and Hannes Harmon. A visitation will be held Sunday July 6, 2008 at Getz Funeral Home from 5-7 PM. The funeral mass will be given Monday July 7, 2008 at Holy Cross Catholic Church at 10 AM with the rite of committal to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Msgr.
