Melissa Ann Bachetti

October 31, 1984 — May 21, 2021

Melissa Ann Bachetti, 36, entered eternal life on May 21, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father Anthony Bachetti, Mother Monique, and brother Brad. As a child Melissa and her family use to travel a lot. As a teenager she played clarinet in the High School Marching Band and was first chair. She also graduated a year ahead of her senior high school class. Her and a group of friends; Nicole, Ola, and Melissa Popino hung out together and were inseparable. Her friends called her "Mely". Melissa loved children, which led her to choose a career as an early childcare teacher after graduating with a teaching associate degree from NMSU. She was a mentor for Big Brother's Big Sister's. Melissa was passionate and a strong advocate for animals including her beloved dog, Shelby. She volunteered to Foster and transport Dogs thru Action Programs for Animals. Yet her biggest joy was hanging out with her best friend, her dog Shelby and "Mama" Mary. Melissa's loving heart and generous spirit left a beacon of light for all those she came in contact with. One never knows the true value of a person until that person is gone and leaves a deep void in those who loved her. Melissa is survived by her uncle Jacques Mercier of Fort Lauderdale, FL, cousin Serge Mercier and wife Emie Gemme and their son Nolan Mercier; Cousin Martin Mercier (wife Karine Busque their daughters Ariane and Anne-Sophie, and son Alexandre) all from Montreal, Canada. Melissa also leaves behind her family friend's "Mama" Mary Wilson Gallegos husband Manuel, and their son Isaac (girlfriend Tina) from Las Cruces, Daughter Christina Foulds and grandson Derek Foulds from Washington. Her closest friends Nicole Kelly (son Jaxon Kelly Phillips) from Plano, TX; Ola from Russia; Melissa Popino, Justin and Andy. A big thank you to Lisa and Justin for their caring heart, Keta Melissa's dog sitter, Memorial Medical Center, Getz Funeral Home and Dona Ana Cemetery Staff plus many other people not listed. At her request cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at 10:00 am at Dona Ana Cemetery, 601 Dona Ana Rd. Las Cruces, NM 88007. Horacio Zertuche Evangelist will be performing a sermon at the graveside. Serving as Honorary Pallbearer is Isaac Wilson Gallegos.
