Melba L. York

Melba L. York, 82 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Thursday, December 1, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center. Melba was born September 13, 1923 in San Angelo, Texas to Paul and Odessa Schlosser. She graduated from Midland High School and attended TWU. She married her high school sweetheart, Bob York and together they owned and operated ranches from west Texas throughout New Mexico and into SE Arizona. She was an active member of the Arizona Cowbells, the Midland Junior League, and enjoyed playing Bridge. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Las Cruces. Melba had a dear love for her family and friends. Melba is survived by one son, Lee York of Capitan, NM; one daughter, Sharon Gentry of Stephenville, TX; and one sister Elsie Baltensperger of Las Cruces, NM. Also surviving Melba are four grandchildren, Westley White, Sheri Mulanax, Buffie McAnally and Bob York and two great grandchildren, Colt Mulanax and Kyleigh Mulanax. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday December 5, 2005 at Ft. Stanton Cemetery, Ft. Stanton, NM. Officiating will be Pastor Marcus L.
