With heavy hearts but unwavering faith, we announce the passing of Melanie Pool, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, on December 18, 2024. She was 68 years old.

Melanie was born in Deming, New Mexico, on June 29, 1956, to her late parents, James and Vida Voiers. Raised in a loving home, Melanie carried forward the values of kindness, generosity, and hard work throughout her life. After graduating from Western New Mexico University with a degree in education, Melanie taught for 25 years, where she touched the lives of countless students with her compassion and dedication. 

1n 1976 Melanie married James (Dick) Pool, her devoted husband, and together they raised two children, Adam and Tana, whom she loved unconditionally. Melanie’s greatest joy came from being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband Dick, her two children Adam (Melissa) Pool and Tana (Kyle) Gottlieb, her cherished grandchildren Kenna, Sydney, Kambree, Cooper, and Krue, her sister Vickie Morrow, her mother-in-law Virginia Pool, her brother-in-law Mike (Nancy) Pool, her nephew Justin (Barkley) Pool, and her great-niece Bianca Cessieux.

She is preceded in death by her parents James and Vida Voiers, her brother Cleve Voiers, her father-in-law Arthur Pool, and her niece Jessica Pool Cessieux.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends and family reflect on their beloved memories of Melanie. 

The family will celebrate her life at a private memorial.
