Marylin Harkey

Marylin Grace Harkey 1942-2023 Marylin Harkey passed away at her home in Las Cruces on July 10, 2023, at the age of 80. She was born in Midland, Texas on August 10, 1942, to James and Grace Reynolds. At a young age her family moved to Las Cruces. After high school, Marylin earned a degree in archaeology and enjoyed exploring various archaeological sites in New Mexico. Marylin loved nature. Over the years, she and Warren hiked hundreds of miles exploring the desert around Las Cruces. She was an avid gardener and spent many hours tending her beautiful flowers and vegetable garden, sharing the fruits of her labor with her friends and neighbors. Her hobbies included birdwatching, writing, and doing various types of artworks. The family would like to express their gratitude to Marylin's caregiver, Rosie Balderas, for the exceptional care, love, and compassion she provided. Marylin is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Warren Harkey, a brother, Marc Reynolds of San Diego, California and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Mike Reynolds. As per Marylin's wishes, no services will be held.
