Mary Santisteven

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Lucia Santistevan 92, of Las Cruces, New Mexico at her residence on December 11, 2024. Mary lived in Las Cruces, New Mexico for 57 years.

She was born on November 22, 1932, in Center, Colorado to Refugio Torres and Magdalena Trujillo.

She enjoyed watching her family come together and a good game of Rummy. She was a woman that could conquer any job put in front of her.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Refugio and Magdalena Torres, her husband Juan Santistevan, brothers Manuel, Orlando, Andy, and Claude Torres, sisters Elizabeth Martinez and Gloria Chavarin.

She is survived, loved, and missed by her children Charlene Santistevan, Darlene (Bob) Taylor, Chris (Loretta) Santistevan, Jack (Gloria) Santistevan, Jason (Becky) Santistevan, 11 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren and her sister Cora Vigil.

A visitation will be held at Getz funeral Home on January 2, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the rosary starting at 7 p.m.

The funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m at The Basilica of San Albino in Mesilla, with Father Christopher on January 3, 2025.

The Rite of Committal will follow at San Albino Cemetery.
