Mary Louise Pritchett

Mary Louise Pritchett (Parten), 82 years old, of Mesilla Park, passed away Monday, August 26th, 2024 in Las Cruces, NM after a long battle with many chronic medical issues. 

Mary Louise “Wessie” was born July 31st,1942 to Derwood and Della (Pricer) Parten in Silver City, NM. 

 She attended Las Cruces High School and graduated in 1961. 

She met her husband, Harold Pritchett, at a Blake’s Lot-A-Burger during a meet-up with friends and they married on April 10th,1965. They had two sons and moved to Yuma, AZ where they lived for many years. 

 In her childhood, Mary Lou loved animals and had a horse as a pet. She loved cooking, especially Mexican food. Her enchiladas were a family favorite. She had a wonderful flare for decorating with all things Southwest. Her hobbies were handheld electronic poker games, crossword puzzles, playing cards and board games, visiting the White Mountains in AZ, and spending time with the grandkids. She was a very talented bowler and attended many bowling tournaments in her younger years. She kept busy at church helping in the nursery while her children were little. 

 Mary Lou Pritchett is survived by her husband, two sons, four grandchildren, two brothers, and one sister. 

 Services will be held at Getz Funeral Home, 1410 East Bowman Ave. Las Cruces, NM 88001 Friday, August 30, 2024 at 10:00 AM. 

 In lieu of flowers the family asks to please make donations to the New Mexico Baptist Children’s Home, P.O. Box 629 Portales, NM 88130.
