Mary Lynn Hulbert

May 5, 1926 — April 19, 2005

Mary Lynn Hulbert, 78 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at La Posada Mesilla Valley Hospice. She was born May 5, 1926 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Albert and Silver Paulus. She had traveled all over the United States during WW II with her husband, Paul (Bud) and worked for Union Pacific Railroad feeding men on troop trains. In 1950 she moved to El Paso and was active in the Boy Scouts during that time. In 1967 she moved to Las Cruces and had worked for El Paso Welding Supply and JC Penny. She them moved to Kingston, NM in 1971 where she and her husband operated a gas station and garage until 1986. In 1998 they retired and moved back to Las Cruces. Surviving Mary are three children, Mike Hulbert and his wife Kathy of Las Cruces; Paul F. Hulbert of Aztec, NM; and Linda K. Gay of Alpine, Texas. Five sisters, Marian Kief and Lucille Kilbane of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Ruth Turner of Lakewood, Washington; Cherie Tennent of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Nira Peterson and her husband Russell (Pete) of Kingston, New Mexico. 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren also survive her. Besides her parents, her husband Paul (Bud), and two brothers, Robert and George Paulus preceded her in death. At her request cremation has taken place and a memorial funeral service will be held at 7 PM on Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Community of Christ Church, 1210 Montana, Las Cruces with Rev. Vern Risser officiating. Honorary bearers will be Ted, Tony, and Bryan Hulbert, Irish Stephens, Bruce Darrington and Bob Watts. Burial of her ashes will take place at the Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, NM.
