Mary Irene Padilla

Mary "Irene" Padilla died at the age of 84 on Monday, June 30th 2014 in Las Cruces, NM. Irene was born on July 17, 1929 in Las Cruces, NM to Matias and Julia Dominguez. She was sister to Corrine Martinez, Jesus Dominguez, Johnny Dominguez, and Bessie Reyes. She married Amadeo S. Padilla, of Hatch, NM, on May 26, 1944 in El Paso, TX. Irene was very involved with the Catholic Church, volunteering her time at the voting polls, researching her genealogy, and she loved cooking with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her sons Jerry Padilla, and his wife Irma; Dennis Padilla, and his wife Taunia, all of Las Cruces, NM; her son-in-law Frank Madrid of San Diego, CA.; Her grandchildren: Rebecca Madrid-Rickard and Paul Madrid of San Diego, CA.; Vanessa Lara, Sal Lara, Karen Padilla, Hector Lara, and Andrew Padilla, all of Las Cruces, NM.; great grandchildren: Matthew, Thomas, Jessica, Camille, Morgan, Humberto, Nataly, and Aiden.She is also survived by her brother Johnny Dominguez of Las Cruces, NM. Irene is Preceded in death by her daughter, Irene "Jade" Madrid, May 2, 1996; and her husband, Amadeo S. Padilla, November 9, 2004. A visitation for Mary "Irene" is scheduled to take place at Getz Funeral Home, Tuesday, July 8th, at 5pm, where a rosary will follow at 6pm . A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, July 9th at 1pm at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Las Cruces, New Mexico. PDF Printable Version
